Responsibilities

Manage site-specific end-to-end commissioning activities during Levels 1 through 5 for new nuclear facilities or retrofit projects
Ensure strict compliance with nuclear safety standards, regulatory requirements, and QA/QC protocols throughout commissioning
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with engineers, trade partners, and operations teams to streamline project delivery
Implement policies and procedures necessary to support project schedule and contractual obligations while meeting NRC and client standards
Coordinate with project site Quality Control (QC) and Mechanical, Electrical, I&C and Nuclear systems teams to ensure commissioning activities follow approved test scripts and plans
Manage commissioning and QC plans per contractual turnovers and regulatory documentation requirements
Define and manage on-site resource requirements for trade partners, equipment vendors, commissioning agents, and project staff
Develop and integrate start-up and commissioning schedules into the overall project schedule, incorporating time for required testing, inspections, and regulatory approvals
Oversee vendor adherence to QC plans and ensure documentation and installation quality prior to energization and operational readiness
Facilitate start-up and commissioning meetings to communicate QC plans, schedule updates, and regulatory compliance checkpoints
Provide management oversight, qualify personnel, and monitor for proper operation of Lockout-Tagout, Permit to Work and LHA programs in accordance with Kiewit policies and procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering, or 10–15 years of equivalent field experience
Minimum eight years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments
Expert understanding of design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and turnover processes within nuclear project delivery
Mastery of commissioning processes (Levels 0–5) and solid understanding of QA/QC requirements for nuclear systems
Comprehensive understanding of Nuclear Safety principles and their application
Comprehensive understanding of nuclear facility systems and fundamental knowledge in disciplines such as HVAC, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and reactor auxiliary systems
Ability to pass stringent security background checks for Nuclear Facility access
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and lead teams effectively under stringent safety and compliance standards
Ability to travel up to 100%
