They are seeking a Safety Intern to assist in the implementation of their Injury and Illness Prevention Program, ensuring safe working conditions through inspections, training, and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

Develop current knowledge of Safety Laws and Regulations

Stay informed of new developments in the Safety field

Develop a working knowledge of Safety information databases and searchable resources

Work on construction projects or in the office to assist with the day-to-day activities associated with safety and loss control

Participate in training at safety meetings, toolbox meetings and safety orientations

Work directly with a mentor while finding solutions to real world problems

Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the construction industry

Assist with new hire onboarding and safety orientation process

Assist with safety training, development of training materials, programs, and presentations

Assist with various safety inspections, safety observations, and safety reports

Assist in maintaining safety records, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), training records, toolbox meetings, maintenance of OSHA logs, maintenance of SDSs and chemical inventory, incident investigations and metrics

Assist in the development and implementation of safety related programs to meet or exceed company safety standards
