Program Quality Manager

Responsibilities
Serves as the primary quality control authority for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement
Previous experience managing Quality Engineers
Manages quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis
Plan quality control staffing needs based on product manufacturing requirements, and delegate activities to Quality Engineer, Technician, and Inspector staff
Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring Quality Control system effectiveness
Leads root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements
Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
Develop quality planning methods for all product lines within the plant
Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel
Initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the plant’s product lines
Reports to Quality Management on quality issues, trends, and losses
Participates in internal and external quality audits
Collaborate with DCMA and other government and/or customer quality assurance organizations
Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented
All other reasonable duties, as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years prior relevant experience; or master's degree with three (3) year of prior relevant experience. Additional years of direct experience working in aviation programs in support of defense contracts may be substituted for degree
Must have Ten (10+) years of experience in QA/QC systems implementation and/or management in a manufacturing and/or product-based environment. Fifteen (15+) years of experience acceptable in lieu of degree
In depth knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements
Experience reviewing requirements on contracts and resources needed to comply to this contract
Ability to review and provide quality control inputs to aviation program manuals, forms, and records
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
Must be proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office products
Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Experience leading large teams of quality professionals
