Responsibilities
Review drawings, specifications, and bid requirements to determine project scope
Perform detailed takeoffs for HVAC, mechanical piping, and sheet metal systems
Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
Work closely with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Prepare proposals and support the bidding process from start to finish
Collaborate with project teams to clarify design intent and project needs
Track market pricing and maintain organized estimating data
Qualification
Required
4+ years of mechanical estimating experience (HVAC, piping, or sheet metal)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, chilled water, hydronics, ductwork, and equipment
Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Preferred
Proficiency with estimating tools (Trimble/AutoBid/Bluebeam strongly preferred)
