Replenishment Buyer Intern

Heritage Landscape Supply Group, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Intern to support daily purchasing and inventory management activities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in placing and managing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, and collaborating with suppliers and branch partners, serving as an entry point to full-time opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

Support the end-to-end purchase order process to ensure consistent in-stock levels across assigned branch locations
Conduct daily reviews of assigned suppliers using our ERP system to determine replenishment needs and place purchase orders in alignment with established buying guidelines
Action all backordered items and expedite requests daily, making informed decisions to update or maintain order status
Manage purchase orders from creation through closure, including sending POs, confirming supplier receipt, validating costs, updating shipping details, and tracking expected receipt dates
Contact suppliers regarding open or aged line items, document updates, and follow through until orders are fully received and closed
Collaborate with location managers and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies, adjust item costing, add freight or handling charges, and support timely PO closure and payment

Required

Ability to provide an unofficial transcript
Actively enrolled in a university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Comfortable working in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated teamwork, accountability, and initiative
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize daily tasks
Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills
Clear and professional verbal communication skills
Open-minded, adaptable, and eager to learn
