Responsibilities

Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to integrate cybersecurity into all IT operations and modernization initiatives
Support enterprise risk management, vulnerability reduction, and incident response readiness
Ensure a continuous state of cybersecurity readiness across all systems and environments
Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, including NIST, FISMA, and DOE/NNSA directives
Promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness and accountability across the organization
Collaborate on implementing Zero Trust architecture, secure cloud adoption, and data protection strategies
Align IT governance, procurement, and lifecycle management processes with cybersecurity requirements
Advancing digital modernization through cloud adoption, automation, analytics, and AI-driven solutions
Strengthening IT governance, service delivery, and operational efficiency
Driving enterprise risk management, vulnerability reduction, and incident response readiness
Leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives in support of modernization, user experience, and mission enablement
Building partnerships with internal divisions, mission programs, and external stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable, and customer-focused services
Collaborating with the CDO to mature enterprise data governance, enhance analytics capabilities, and enable data-informed decision-making across the Laboratory
Championing the I&T Liaison Program, reinforcing I&T's position as the Laboratory's "Provider of Choice" in delivering technology and service excellence
Promoting a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within I&T to build a best-in-class, customer-centric organization
Lead and support ERP modernization efforts for CIO to streamline business processes, enhance data integration, and enable a more efficient, secure enterprise environment
Advance the use of artificial intelligence and automation to improve IT operations and institutional efficiency, including the integration of agent-based AI to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and enable proactive system performance and security management

Required

Proven success leading large, complex, multidisciplinary IT or technical organizations with significant fiscal and programmatic responsibility
Experience overseeing or directly managing enterprise cybersecurity programs, working in close collaboration with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to maintain compliance and readiness with federal cybersecurity standards and inspections, including NIST, FISMA, and CCRI requirements
Knowledge of federal IT compliance standards and frameworks, including DOE/NNSA directives, FISMA, and NIST 800-series requirements
Strong background in enterprise IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud services, networks, ERP systems, and service delivery, emphasizing reliability, scalability, and resilience
Expertise in IT governance, policy development, and performance management to ensure accountability, regulatory compliance, and mission alignment
Demonstrated success driving modernization and digital transformation using cloud computing, automation, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and zero-trust architectures
Experience leading organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, and workforce transformation to support enterprise modernization
Broad understanding of key business and IT domains, including human resources systems, acquisition services, project and portfolio management, records management, and data center operations
Strong record of strategic planning, personnel leadership, fiscal stewardship, and customer engagement
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and security concepts to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders
Commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement, and maintaining a high level of cybersecurity readiness across all operations
Proven leadership traits including integrity, accountability, collaboration, and commitment to organizational excellence
Proven success partnering with cybersecurity leadership (CISO) to align IT and security operations
Experience operating in both classified and unclassified environments, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance (or equivalent)
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with a proven record of solving complex technical and strategic challenges
Exceptional ability to communicate vision, priorities, and results with clarity and influence across the organization
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution and 15 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

Demonstrated experience collaborating with NNSA or Science National Laboratory management and broad understanding of LANL's mission and operations
Experience modernizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or large-scale modernization initiatives, including cloud-based or hybrid ERP implementations
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate across diverse federal stakeholders, including IT service providers, mission programs, and federal partners
CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
