Responsibilities

Lead strategy development consultation and execution for a state government relations strategy including targeted work in the east coast of the United States, from New York to Florida, with a key emphasis on Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida
Particular focus will develop strategies in Washington, DC with key state associations, consultants, industry groups, and in top facilities in the East Coast, including Massachusetts North American Headquarters and operations in the Carolinas
Lead the work to strengthen the team’s operational success by managing the team’s internal workstreams and managing timelines to support internal administrative reports to give visibility to the Government Relations team’s work
Develop relationships with members of state legislatures, state agency officials, local government, and state/local industry associations to support the strategy
Support Schneider Electric’s business units in their goals
Manage relationships with the National Governor’s Association (NGA) and their federal affairs directors in Washington, DC
Lead management of Schneider Electric’s engagements with key policy organizations, including the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), National Council of State Legislators (NCSL), and other relevant groups based in Washington, DC
Manage consultants to support a cohesive strategy
Creatively plan and execute hosted events and fly-ins to engage in advocacy
Lead policy thought leadership and support external comms strategy

Required

Have 3-7 years of experience with state and local government relations working in a state legislature, for a Governor, at a government agency, industry association, private sector, or NGO
Hold a degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Affairs, Government Relations, Economics, Law, or similar
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Excel at managing numerous projects as a contributor and self-starter
