Sales Team Data Science - Summer Intern

Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of robust AI and machine learning solutions specifically tailored for our Sales, Project Management, and Innovation Engineering functions
Work closely with stakeholders to deeply understand their challenges, identify high-impact opportunities for automation and AI, and translate complex business problems into viable technical solutions
From data acquisition and feature engineering to model training, deployment (MLOps), monitoring, and continuous improvement – you'll own the entire lifecycle of your solutions
Design and implement scalable, resilient, and performant data pipelines and machine learning infrastructure
Act as a subject matter expert in data science and AI, mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making across the organization
Stay ahead of the curve on emerging AI/ML technologies and evaluate their potential application within our business
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or Business Administration with at least one semester completed
1+ year academic or industry experience with software languages and operating systems
A minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must work 30-40 hours per week
Hands-on experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering, with a strong portfolio of deployed solutions
Deep expertise in programming languages: Python (essential), SQL
Deep expertise in ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc
Deep expertise in data manipulation and analysis libraries: Pandas, NumPy
Deep expertise in cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (experience with MLOps tools/services on one of these is highly desirable)
Proven ability to build and deploy robust, production-grade machine learning systems
Strong understanding of various ML algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, NLP, time series) and when to apply them effectively
Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Problem-solving mindset: You're not just executing tasks; you're finding the best solutions to real-world business problems
Preferred
Automotive-related hobby and/or experience working with engines or vehicles
Experience with specific domains relevant to Sales (CRM data), Project Management (Jira/Asana APIs), or Innovation (IP data, market research APIs)
Prior experience in a consulting or product development environment where you delivered solutions to diverse internal or external customers
Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit) to convey insights effectively
