Audio Visual Manager
Anakeesta is an award-winning mountaintop theme park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, creating immersive outdoor experiences in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. The AV Manager leads the planning, operation, and maintenance of all audio, video, and lighting systems across the park—helping bring seasonal events, special moments, and daily guest experiences to life.

Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the AV team, including scheduling, task assignments, training, and performance support
Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of lighting, audio, and video systems across all park locations
Plan, program, and adjust lighting and audio systems for seasonal events, holidays, and special activations
Manage daily system schedules and ensure consistent, high-quality guest-facing experiences
Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting complex AV issues as needed
Oversee installation, termination, and maintenance of CAT5/6 cabling and related infrastructure
Ensure DMX systems, control consoles, and AV networks are properly programmed, documented, and maintained
Conduct routine system audits to ensure full functionality, safety, and compliance
Maintain accurate documentation, including maintenance logs, system updates, and inventory records
Manage AV inventory, tools, and equipment lifecycle planning
Collaborate with Events, Operations, Maintenance, and Creative teams to support park-wide initiatives
Ensure all AV workspaces meet safety, organization, and cleanliness standards
Operate company vehicles as needed to transport equipment and supplies
Assist with budgeting, vendor coordination, and equipment procurement
Perform other duties as assigned to support park operations
Qualification
Required
Strong leadership and team management skills
Advanced knowledge of indoor and outdoor AV systems, including lighting, audio, and video technologies
Experience programming and troubleshooting DMX lighting systems and control consoles
Strong working knowledge of audio systems, modern lighting technology, and video distribution
Familiarity with basic networking concepts and AV infrastructure
Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
Proficiency with hand and power tools, lifts, meters, and test equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver's license
Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working at heights up to 80 feet
Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, kneel, and climb for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfortable communicating in loud environments
Preferred
3–5 years of AV, production, or technical systems experience
Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
Experience supporting live events, themed environments, or attractions a plus
Knowledge of SMPTE timecode, soldering, and PCB repair preferred
