Performs instrument production, case assembly, sterile processing, decontamination of surgical instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures, state, local and federal requirements
Participates in quality improvement initiatives
Functions as a preceptor to new hires
Assumes role of supervisor in supervisor’s absence
May require supervisory roles of multiple locations

Required

High School Diploma
Must have certification from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management)
Graduate of high school or GED equivalency examination and must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) and have at least three (3) years of experience in sterile processing and/or leadership role

Preferred

2 years' experience in Central Sterile or as a Surgical Tech is preferred
Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) and/or Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) certification preferred
