Vice President of Operations

Snake Oil Cocktail Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to provide executive leadership over all operational infrastructure and event execution. Responsibilities

Direct all companywide event logistics and operations including food and beverage catering, venue operations, and offsite activations from planning through post event reconciliation
Serve as executive owner for operational delivery systems that support high volume events, complex client requirements, and brand standards
Act as senior on site operational authority for large scale events, galas, and high visibility activations as required
Lead, mentor, and retain a high performing operations leadership team
Establish staffing models that align labor deployment with revenue, contract scope, and compliance requirements
Lead weekly operations meetings, logistics planning sessions, and post event performance reviews
Oversee daily warehouse, kitchen, fleet, and facilities operations including scheduling, task delegation, vehicle routing, transportation logistics, and asset utilization
Maintain operational readiness of all physical locations, equipment, vehicles, and storage facilities
Administer and manage the departmental operating budget with accountability for cost controls, margin performance, and variance analysis
Oversee product costing, inventory management, batch production planning, and ingredient sourcing
Negotiate vendor pricing, review comparative cost analyses, and approve purchasing decisions to ensure quality and fiscal discipline
Approve invoices, review revenue and expense projections, and ensure accurate inventory reconciliation
Establish, document, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures across operations, kitchen, warehouse, and field teams
Ensure full compliance with sanitation, safety, alcohol service, food handling, HACCP standards, and all applicable federal, California, and local regulations
Partner cross functionally with Human Resources and Finance to support compliance, labor controls, training adherence, and internal audits
Collaborate with Sales and Client Services to execute client vision while maintaining operational feasibility and contractual compliance
Oversee seasonal beverage menu execution and batch preparation in coordination with the Beverage Director
Uphold company policies, reinforce professional standards, and elevate operational presentation across all touchpoints

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline or equivalent operational leadership experience
8 plus years of progressive operations leadership experience in hospitality, events, food and beverage, or complex service environments
Proven experience leading multiple site operations, logistics teams, and large scale event execution
Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and vendor negotiations
Demonstrated ability to build structure, enforce accountability, and scale operational systems
In depth knowledge of California workplace compliance, safety standards, and operational risk management
Executive presence with the ability to lead decisively under pressure

Preferred

Experience working with small to mid sized businesses in growth or scale phases
Familiarity with California employment and business regulations as they intersect with operations and labor deployment
Experience in regulated industries including alcohol service, food service, or fire and safety adjacent environments is a plus
Prior partnership with Human Resources on compliance, training, investigations, or policy execution
