Gulf Coast Flooring & Services is a premier commercial subcontractor specializing in flooring, paint, and concrete. They are seeking a detail-driven Concrete Estimator to produce complete proposals and manage bids effectively, ensuring successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Review past scopes, estimates, contracts, and project documentation to understand Gulf Coast Services' standards and pricing norms

Learn our estimating workflow, bid calendar, file structure, templates, and revision control expectations

Shadow the Senior Concrete Estimator on active bids end-to-end and begin owning defined takeoff components

Demonstrate strong scope capture by reconciling civil/site plans with structural drawings/elevations/details and identifying missing scope early

Solicit and level vendor/sub pricing (ready-mix, rebar/fab/place, pumping, joints/curing/accessories as applicable) using a consistent format

Build and apply a Concrete Bid Checklist and starter library of clarifications/exclusions

Own defined portions of larger bids or smaller bids end-to-end with Senior review and final sign-off

Produce defensible proposals with clear scope narratives, inclusions/exclusions, clarifications, alternates, and marked-up drawings

Run a repeatable pre-submission quality check (quantities, details/elevations, addenda confirmation, proposal cleanup)

Support proactive follow-up with GC/Precon teams: timely revisions, answers, and documentation of scope decisions

Create an Operations handoff snapshot for awarded jobs to reduce field surprises and scope gaps

Run the majority of assigned bids end-to-end with minimal Senior edits while consistently meeting deadlines

Improve estimate accuracy and reduce post-award scope gaps through disciplined plan reading and documentation

Maintain and refine a 'Top 25 Concrete Scope Risks & Clarifications' list informed by post-mortems and job feedback

Strengthen vendor/sub coverage and contribute to cost-history and production rate improvements based on real performance

Partner closely with Operations to ensure clear handoffs and continuous improvement across estimating and execution
