Land Surveyor

Responsibilities

Conduct field surveys for boundary, topographic, and construction layout using GPS, robotic total stations, and conventional surveying methods
Perform site reconnaissance, data collection, and control point establishment to support design and engineering teams
Prepare and review survey maps, plats, and legal descriptions in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
Collaborate with civil engineers, planners, and GIS specialists to integrate survey data into design and modeling workflows
Maintain and organize field notes, digital data, and project records for accuracy and completeness
Support the preparation of technical reports, exhibits, and mapping deliverables for clients and stakeholders
Ensure field and office work complies with safety policies and professional surveying standards

Required

Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
2+ years of experience in land surveying, construction layout, or geospatial data collection
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, Total Station, and data collection software
Strong understanding of boundary law principles, topographic mapping, and coordinate geometry (COGO)
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred

ArcGIS or drone mapping experience a plus
LSIT or PLS certification (or progress toward licensure) preferred but not required
