Scientist-Translational Immunology
Collabera is seeking a Scientist to support early discovery efforts within a translational immunology research team. The Scientist will contribute to target identification and validation through molecular profiling and functional immunology experiments, requiring hands-on laboratory experience and collaboration across multidisciplinary research teams.
Responsibilities
Execute RNA sequencing library preparation workflows and perform quality control using appropriate analytical instruments
Prepare libraries for sequencing, operate sequencing platforms, and support troubleshooting of sequencing outputs
Perform multiplexed ligand-based assays including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays and bead-based platforms
Conduct functional experiments using primary human immune cells, including cell culture and stimulation
Isolate and handle peripheral blood mononuclear cells and perform routine molecular biology techniques
Accurately document experimental procedures, data, and results using an electronic laboratory notebook
Troubleshoot and optimize protocols independently and in collaboration with colleagues
Interpret experimental results and communicate findings clearly to internal scientific audiences
Collaborate with computational biology and data science partners to support RNA sequencing data generation and interpretation
Participate in cross-functional alignment activities within a matrixed research environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field with approximately five years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with approximately two years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience with RNA sequencing workflows, including library preparation and quality control
Experience handling primary human cells, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and biological tissues
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction and nucleic acid quality assessment
Experience with ligand-based assays such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays or multiplexed immunoassays
Preferred
Experience running end-to-end bulk RNA sequencing workflows
Experience with complex immune cell cultures and stimulation assays
Familiarity with single-cell sequencing technologies is a plus
Basic knowledge of statistical or scripting tools is a plus
Prior exposure to immunology research environments is preferred
