Software Engineer–Associate/Experienced

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support their Daybreak team located in Kent, Washington. This role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Software Engineering organization, where the engineer will design, develop, and maintain mission-critical software systems.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry and customer standards
Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products
Coordinates the development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
Debugs and leads resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
Researches and implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

Required

1+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in cloud-native distributed systems and orchestration
Experience in Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or any other DevOps pipeline tool chain
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Preferred

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Level 2: 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with AWS, AWS Lambdas, Docker, Kubernetes
1+ years' experience in Python/C++ programming on full stack software projects/programs
Experience developing and maintaining REST APIs and interfaces
Familiarity with practices such as test-driven development (TDD), agile software development, continuous integration, and dependency management is preferred
Experience with satellite ground mission capabilities, products, and/or customers
Experience with DevSecOps and continuous integration (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab)
