Responsibilities

Conduct thorough reviews of financial transactions and reports for the accounting team
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard agency assets and data integrity
Reconcile complex accounts, ensuring accurate and compliant financial records
Support and collaborate with team members to complete moderately complex accounting assignments
Prepare comprehensive financial statements, notes, and disclosures aligned with regulatory standards
Research and analyze fiscal data, identifying trends and providing management with informed insights
Assist in process improvements and recommend enhancements to optimize accounting operations
Ensure all operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures

Required

2-3 years' accounting experience
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial review and reporting
Proven experience reviewing others' work and ensuring compliance
Strong knowledge of cost allocations, fund codes, and governmental accounting practices such as GASB 87, GASB 96, and capital assets
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read and interpret complex financial documents and regulations
