Responsibilities

Support project teams on a variety of project assignments including data management, site remediation activities, technical and safety oversight of subcontractors, permitting, sample collection, work plan development and report writing

Preparing work and health and safety plans

Conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling

Remediation system operation and maintenance

Data entry, management, and analyses

Preparation of reports in a variety of formats

Required

BS in Environmental Sciences / Soil Science / Geology / Environmental Engineering or related science major

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Early career 2– 5 years of applicable environmental experience

This position will require a 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA certification. While current certification is desirable, it is not required to apply. HAZWOPER training will be provided upon employment if the successful candidate(s) is/are not already certified

Demonstrated experience in milestone report writing in Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 regulatory programs

Strong organizational and communication skills with an innate attention to detail

Strong time management and decision-making skills

Able to work independently at remote locations to troubleshoot issues with sampling equipment and/or instruct others

Ability to multi-task with multiple projects or assignments

Interest and motivation to diversify skill set with additional training

Mechanical aptitude and experience with working on remediation systems including troubleshooting pumps, blowers, and motors is a plus

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future

Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety-sensitive roles)

They must also have a valid driver's license and good driving record

Preferred

Preference for early career professionals with HAZWOPER training

Emergency response experience a plus

Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulatory framework
