Responsibilities
Design and develop state-of-the-art cable connectors for EP catheters, capable of carrying multiple signal types (e.g., RF, sensing, stimulation, thermocouple)
Create detailed SolidWorks models and engineering drawings for cables and connectors
Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams from concept through production
Participate in and lead design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical discussions
Work closely with suppliers to develop prototypes, manage DFM feedback, and ensure manufacturability
Develop and execute test plans and qualification protocols for new cable and connector designs
Design and build test fixtures to validate mechanical and electrical performance
Support field issues, root cause analysis, and implement design improvements
Drive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives with suppliers
Ensure all documentation (e.g., drawings, BOMs, test reports) is complete and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in medical devices or high-reliability connectors
Experience with cable assemblies, connector design, and electromechanical systems
Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA, and tolerance stack-up analysis
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
