Diabetes Prevention Program Supervisor

The Diabetes Prevention Program Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations and staff of the program, ensuring high-quality diabetes prevention services and fostering community partnerships.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Supervise, develop, support, and evaluate program staff to ensure adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and timeliness while managing daily program operations
Utilizes evidence-based diabetes prevention/management curriculum to instruct, manage, and facilitate lifestyle education to the community
Plans and conducts outreach activities, including attending partnership meetings and community events, to enhance program engagement and participation
Develops and maintains partnerships with Harris County community organizations in order to launch education sessions and ensure successful participation within the community
Records and monitors participant data, including number of participants seen. Tracks progress toward program goals and ensures documentation is accurate and completed timely
Reviews records and reports pertaining to program activities, evaluates performance for program activities and employees, and makes adjustments as needed
Stays updated on the latest research, approaches, theories, and practices in pre-diabetes and diabetes management
Performs other duties as assigned including special tasks involved with responding to emergency events

Required

Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or related field
At least two (2) years of experience working directly in public health, nutrition and/or dietetics
At least one (1) year of experience supervising program activities and staff
Valid Texas Driver's License
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Ability to work well with public and staff members
Ability to obtain and filter information, identify, and address key issues relevant to the achievement of strategic organizational goals
Exceptional project management skills to manage a variety of projects simultaneously

Ability to create strong, positive working relationships
Previous experience building and managing high performance teams
