Clinical Assistant Professor/Research – Tenure Track
The University of Florida is a top-ranked public research institution seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Adult Division of the Department of Psychiatry. The role focuses on advancing translational research in neuroscience and psychiatry, integrating research, education, and clinical service, while also providing psychiatric care for adult patients.

Responsibilities
Conduct and lead translational research in brain organoid models to advance neuroscience and psychiatry
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into clinical practice
Mentor and educate residents, fellows, and graduate students
Publish scholarly work and pursue extramural funding to support research programs
Participate in departmental service and academic activities
Provide psychiatric care for adult patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
Participate in the Adult Division’s inpatient call rotation
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
Integrate research findings into clinical practice where applicable
Supervise and mentor psychiatry residents, medical students, and other healthcare trainees in clinical settings
Qualification
Required
MD or DO with board eligibility/certification in Psychiatry
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Florida
Demonstrated experience in translational research and interest in brain organoid models
Prior academic experience in psychiatry and neuroscience research
Evidence of successful grant funding and publications in peer-reviewed journals
Preferred
PhD in a relevant scientific field
Record of successful grant funding or clear potential to secure extramural funding
Experience mentoring trainees and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
