Responsibilities

Guide doctoral students as mentors, quality control, and examiners to ensure the dissertation meets high academic standards

Provide expertise, feedback on drafts, and assess the candidate's ability to conduct independent research

Shape the research, refine methodology, ensure ethical conduct, and decide if the work warrants a PhD

Serve as the student’s primary academic mentor and the institution’s principal steward of dissertation quality

Provide comprehensive guidance throughout all phases of the dissertation, fostering student progress while ensuring scholarly rigor and academic standards are upheld
