User Experience Designer
eNGINE is a Solutions and Placement firm focused on building technical teams. They are hiring a User Experience Designer to support major product upgrades for medical device products, requiring a generalist comfortable with both digital and physical design processes.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to end-to-end UX design across digital and physical products
Translate marketing and business requirements into clear design investigations and technical specifications
Drive work through discovery, definition, and iterative design phases
Create designs and prototypes at varying fidelities—from lo-fi concepts to production-ready artifacts
Design and refine GUI experiences used by physicians and clinical users (ZPM platform and related tools)
Contribute to and uphold design standards and design systems, ensuring consistency across products
Create wireframes, flows, interaction models, and high-fidelity visual designs using Figma
Develop digital and physical prototypes to support usability testing and verification activities
Conduct and support user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews
Present design work clearly and confidently to cross-functional teams and leadership
Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure feasibility and smooth handoff into development
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional UX design experience
Strong end-to-end product design experience (discovery → final visual design → prototyping)
Experience designing both digital interfaces and physical device interactions
Proven ability to work as a generalist, contributing across research, interaction design, UI, and systems
Excellent communicator who can clearly walk stakeholders through design decisions
Portfolio demonstrating process depth, tradeoffs, and real-world outcomes (“meat on the bone”)
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Human Factors, Information Science, Computer Science, or related field
Advanced proficiency in Figma (required)
Strong experience with FigJam, Miro, or similar collaboration tools
Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience creating: Wireframes and interaction models, High-fidelity UI designs, Digital and physical prototypes, Information architecture and style guides
Strong understanding of User-Centered Design principles
Experience designing for web, mobile, and embedded GUI environments
Ability to document design decisions and present to both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
Background in medical devices, healthcare, or home healthcare strongly preferred
