The NDT Technician is responsible for carrying out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on board vessels, supporting vessel condition assessment, class requirements, repair planning, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Perform NDT inspections on ship structures, hulls, tanks, cargo holds, piping, and machinery components

Conduct inspections using one or more of the following methods:

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)

Radiographic Testing (RT) (if certified)

Prepare inspection areas and ensure safe access on board vessels

Interpret test results and identify defects, corrosion, cracks, or material discontinuities

Record findings accurately and prepare inspection reports and certificates

Liaise with ship crew, superintendents, surveyors, and project managers

Follow applicable Class, Flag, and company safety procedures

Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment as required

Support dry-docking, repairs, and special surveys when required
