Responsibilities

Determine bore path and locate utilities
Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
Utilize 'Mud' mixing systems
Develop and maintain a bore schedule
Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
Perform work in all weather conditions
Other duties as assigned
Drive and operate directional drills, backhoes, skid steers, and trailer-mounted equipment
Site Management: Set up safety perimeters (cones, barriers), conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), manage site cleanup, and perform restoration/landscaping
Utility Locating: Verify existing underground utilities through potholing to prevent damage
Drilling Process: Determine bore paths, follow bore plans, operate mud mixing systems, and install conduit/cable
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, flag traffic when necessary, and maintain equipment
Logistics: Load/unload tools and materials, and potentially move equipment

Required

To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
Prior experience in utility construction or telecom is often required
Valid driver's license; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), especially Class A with tanker endorsement, is frequently needed
Ability to work outdoors in various conditions, lift heavy items, stand, bend, and operate machinery
Precision in following bore plans and safety procedures
