Supervisor, Family Support
Mid-America Transplant is dedicated to saving lives through organ and tissue donation. The Supervisor, Family Support is responsible for leading the Family Support Coordinators, ensuring effective donation authorization, and driving continuous quality improvement within the department.

Responsibilities
Drives organ and tissue donation authorization through personal actions, coaching, and development of the Family Support Coordinators'
Provides day-to-day supervision for assigned staff, partners with immediate leaders in the selection, training, and development of team members to retain a motivated, engaged, and professional workforce
Oversight for Family Support team to include developing schedules, review and approval of time sheets, expense reports, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operational problems, and implementing new processes
Communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of expectations and the desired results
Responds on-site to obtain, support, and / or maintain authorization for donation
Communicates process changes and ensures that staff have up-to-date skills and knowledge to clarify and exceed organizational requirements
Actively participates in the development of department, work system and organization wide meetings as a vehicle to communicate and build relationships with team members
Identifies process gaps and assists with the development of action plans to ensure commitment to continuous quality improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social work, crisis management, grief management, healthcare management or related field
Active member of a team within a case management, family counselor, social services, and / or organ procurement organization
Knowledge of customer services principles, influence techniques, and problem resolution techniques
Skilled in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external contacts, agile in adjusting communication style to the situation
Excellent time management skills
Ability to travel throughout Mid-America Transplant services areas on a 24-hour basis
Ability to respond on-site within 90 minutes of deployment
