Fixture Design Project Manager (Hybrid)

MBH Architects is a top-tier architectural firm with global reach, seeking experienced Fixture Design professionals for a Project Manager role in their SF Bay Area office. The position involves guiding project teams through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client objectives, managing project scope and budgets, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Understand and align with the client’s objectives and vision
Build client trust, manage expectations, and pursue growth opportunities
Oversee project scope, staffing, schedules, budgets, and revenue projections
Lead internal teams and delegate assignments based on skillsets and availability
Manage deliverables, client communications, and status reporting
Review and guide technical drawings, fixture design, and production documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure quality and alignment with design intent
Provide ad hoc design support, including models, presentations, and mockups
Mentor junior staff and oversee the work of Designers and Job Captains
Contribute to research, innovation, and documentation efforts related to retail environments and materials

Required

Experience leading a design engineering team with a focus in metal and wood manufacturing; retail experience is a plus
Hands-on experience with prototyping, product testing, and working directly with clients and vendors
Skilled in design software such as Revit, Rhino, Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks, with experience in millwork, fixtures, or related fabrication industries
Familiar with project management tools like Quip, Bluebeam, Wrike, OmniPlan, or Jira
Background in architecture, industrial design, engineering, or related creative fields preferred
