The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is seeking an Intern to join their Human Resources Team. This internship offers hands-on experience in recruitment and talent development while supporting key HR functions.

Responsibilities

Provide support to department staff in accomplishing human resource management programs including recruitment, training and development, classification and compensation, and workforce development
Contribute to special projects and new initiatives including research, solicitation, and implementation of new programs
Provide administrative support to department including filing, prepping material, and managing room calendars
Schedule trainings, and coordinate facilities and materials for training
Clearly communicate with Agency staff and consultants to inform, clarify, update, and problem solve important information in support of providing outstanding customer service
Conduct surveys and performs administrative research
Perform the full array of duties assigned including professional administrative/technical work on special projects
Compile data or materials and create spreadsheets, prepare reports, manuals, and publications
Prepare research in the resolution of administrative or operations concerns/problems
Provide support to department staff in accomplishing human resources management programs including recruitment/selection, benefits administration, respond to letters and phone calls regarding application and employment processes, and assist with forms completion and answering questions
Participate in pulling documents and filing information
Perform other related duties as required

Required

Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent
Graduation or current enrollment in undergraduate or graduate studies in an accredited college or university with major course work in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Management, Psychology, Training and Development, Communications, Business or Public Administration/Management, or closely related field
Candidates with intermediate experience in Microsoft Suite and prior administrative experience are highly desirable
Gather, organize, interpret, and analyze information and data
Prepare and interpret tables, charts, graphs, and flow charts
Organize, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within areas of assigned responsibility
Understand and follow written and oral instructions
Prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, correspondence and other written materials
Exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, varied and confidential personnel issues and employee situations
Organize and maintain specialized files
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work
Operate office equipment including a computer and applicable software
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Formulate options and make recommendations

Preferred

Preference will be given to individuals who are currently enrolled in coursework for any of the aforementioned disciplines
