Procurement & Bank Card Specialist

The University of Massachusetts is seeking a Procurement & Bank Card Specialist who will provide support and customer service related to the purchasing of goods, equipment, and services. The role includes processing cardholder applications, auditing compliance, and assisting users with procurement processes while ensuring adherence to university policies.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Process cardholder applications, changes, and cancellations
Review requests for transaction overrides and exceptions for appropriateness and conformity to University policy
Assist in the training of employee cardholders regarding procurement/purchasing card policies and procedures
Schedule cardholder activity compliance audits
Provide access for users to bank system for procurement/purchasing cards to retrieve monthly bank statements and to view account information
Provide guidance and influence through the University user community regarding available contracts including University, Commonwealth of Massachusetts and approved consortium agreements for best cost, quality, service, and terms
Assist and reinforce the use of proper mechanisms for purchases across the University
Review and approve requisitions placed by the user community. All requisitions must be reviewed to ensure that they comply with University policies prior to approval
Work to identify and mitigate risks within the procurement systems and processes
Support users throughout the University with the purchasing process. Provide valuable customer support while delivering a positive user experience
Provide pre- and post-order support for procurement/purchasing card transactions
Prepare, review, analyze and maintain departmental metrics and reporting as requested
Provide recommendations for improvements and efficiencies across all areas
Identify potential areas for process improvement
Address outstanding issues identified in reports
Perform other duties as required

Required

Associate degree with three year's working experience
Demonstrated ability to handle details and multiple priorities and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills needed to present or communicate effectively with all levels of management

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in related field with one year's experience
Jaggaer or like procurement system experience
Experience working in an institution of higher education
Experience working in a Shared Services organization
Commonwealth of Massachusetts MCPPO Certification
