Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining a nationally/internationally recognized research program, including securing external funding and publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals
Contributing to undergraduate and graduate curricula, including core courses in structural analysis and design, as well as developing new courses aligned with infrastructure systems and emerging trends
Mentoring and advising research assistants and postdoctoral scholars
Engaging in departmental, university, and professional service, including mentoring junior faculty and serving on technical committees
Fostering interdisciplinary partnerships within the university and externally with stakeholders in government, industry, and non-profits
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in civil engineering or a closely related field
Strong record of scholarly achievement commensurate with appointment at the Associate Professor level
Robust publication history in high-impact journals
Successful grant funding
Evidence of research impact
Excellence in teaching and mentoring at the university level
Potential for advancement to the rank of Professor in a near-term horizon
Demonstrated evidence of successful collaboration and leadership of multiple investigator proposals and projects
Preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) license, or willingness to obtain one
