Responsibilities

Performs basic structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools, to support drawing release and limited support to the Manufacturing Review Board process
Develops complex structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity
Performs basic structural analysis to support response to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation and regulatory agency coordination
Performs structural analysis to support trade studies and configuration development
Creates strength check notes to document analysis. Provides inputs to formal documentation, to show compliance with Boeing, customer and regulatory requirements
Develops and supports in-house software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks
Assists in the research and preparation of data, to support definition of structural design requirements
Works under general supervision

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
2 or more years of experience in structural analysis
Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required
This position requires the ability to meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required

Preferred

Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
Experience with Aircraft Primary and/or Secondary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
