Student Hourly - Design Camp Resident Assistant
The Center for Public Partnerships & Research is offering a position for Resident Assistants at the KU Design Camp, a pre-college summer program for high school students interested in Architecture or Design. The role involves assisting with camp logistics, facilitating activities, and overseeing camp participants during their stay.
Higher Education
Responsibilities
Eat meals with camp participants, facilitate evenings activities, and assist with camp functions as needed
Stay overnight in the residence hall during camp week to oversee camp participants
Escort camp participants to and from Design Camp activities across campus
Respond to student issues, conflict concerns, and crisis situations
Demonstrate ethical conduct and encourage responsible behavior in others
Follow and enforce University, Housing, and Design Camp regulations and policies
Other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current KU Architecture or Design student enrolled in 6-credit hours either in the Spring 2026 semester or Fall 2026 semester
Must be at least 18-years old at the time of hire
Must be available to participate for the duration of the camp, including overnight stays, as well as attend training
Preferred
Previous experience as a camp counselor
Preference given to students in good academic standing within the School of Architecture and Design, at the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior level
