Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for all credit insurance activities from pre-closing review (where applicable) through payment, booking, and ongoing monitoring
Manage insurance setup within Loan IQ (LIQ) and ensure accuracy throughout the life of each transaction
Calculate insurance premiums in accordance with credit agreements and insurance certificates
Process timely premium payments and initial deposits to insurance brokers
Reconcile insurance-related cash flows and ensure payment accuracy
Book and monitor all insurance-related transactions in Loan IQ (LIQ)
Ensure data integrity through accurate reconciliation and ongoing monitoring
Review insurance policies, credit agreements, and related legal documentation to identify insurance requirements
Ensure correct interpretation, booking, and processing of all insurance obligations
Verify all insurance calculations prior to funding
Confirm required insurance payments and deposits are completed accurately and on time
Act as the primary point of contact for insurance-related inquiries from Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and external brokers
Communicate discrepancies, updates, and status changes clearly and professionally
Monitor insurance-related covenants and reporting requirements
Identify, escalate, and resolve discrepancies or potential operational risks in a timely manner
Identify opportunities to streamline insurance booking, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting processes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Middle Office operations
Qualification
Required
Experience supporting commercial lending and/or asset finance operations at a commercial bank
Hands-on experience managing insurance components within lending transactions
Undergraduate degree in Finance or a related business field
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex, time-sensitive processes
Solid understanding of financial statements and comfort calculating and interpreting financial ratios
Preferred
Experience with banking systems such as Loan IQ (LIQ), Cash Plus, and/or FBTI
Prior Middle Office or Operations experience within a banking or financial services environment
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
