Project Manager / Senior Designer

Responsibilities
Provide project design leadership and manage the design development of specific commercial projects
Plan and execute the presentation of project designs in graphic form
Coordinate with principals, clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and employees on the project scope and timeline
Oversee the project design and ensure that the design fits with the client’s expectations
Select all furnishings and finishes for approval by the principal-in-charge
Maintain the project’s overall design direction and aesthetic
Manage the delivery of the project, schedule, and budget
Manage, train, and mentor design staff
Oversee installation and contract administration
Prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc
Initiate and/or develop design intent and goals
Monitor progress to determine project phasing and participate in contract administration
Build successful client relationships
Prepare proposal request
Establish and maintain project contact database
Initiate client meetings, draft/publish, and distribute meeting minutes
Review and coordinate specifications
Manage the FF&E budget, selection, presentation & specification of commercial furnishings, art & accessories
Conduct project reviews for on-time and on-budget success
Create internship and/or new hire programs with both local and regional Universities and Interior Design programs
Supervise and perform all aspects of contract administration, including contract negotiation and review, change orders, project start-up, and closeout
Monitor and control the project through the administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget
Prepare reports concerning work progress, cost, and scheduling
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to Team members and clients
Qualification
Required
7-10 years minimum experience in commercial interior design
A Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, Autodesk 3D, and InDesign is a plus
Should have the ability to travel 10-20%
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple assignments
Must be a team player with the ability to supervise creative and administrative talent
Must have extensive contract furniture and finish material knowledge, as it relates to the recommendations, use, and installation
Must know building codes & ADA regulations
Preferred
NCIDQ certification preferred
