Project Manager
KGDR Consultants Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in utility development to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of transmission, distribution, and substation projects. The role involves managing complex stakeholder environments and ensuring compliance with utility standards and regulations while overseeing all aspects of project delivery.
Responsibilities
Manage end to end project delivery across utility development projects including transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, and grid modernization
Lead project planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
Coordinate with engineering, construction, permitting, environmental, real estate, and field teams to ensure all project milestones are met
Review design packages, construction drawings, outage plans, and technical submittals
Track project progress through schedules, cost reports, and status dashboards
Oversee contractor performance, change orders, invoices, and procurement of materials
Facilitate project meetings and communication between internal teams, clients, and external agencies
Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed
Support forecasting, reporting, and project closeout documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
5 to 10 years of project management experience in utilities, energy, or infrastructure
Strong understanding of utility design, construction sequencing, and permitting processes
Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
Preferred
PMP certification is preferred but not required
Experience coordinating outages or working with transmission and distribution systems is a plus
Familiarity with utility standards and processes such as QAQC, commissioning, and energization
Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail, and financial acumen
