Mechanical Design Engineer - Electrical Integration (Onsite)

They are hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on Electrical Integration within the main cabin seating team, responsible for designing components and systems, integrating electrical components, and collaborating with various teams to ensure product reliability and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities
Integrate electrical components and wiring into design while meeting vendor and OEM requirements
Liaises between electrical integration team, electrical certification, design engineering, vendors and project teams
Prepares work statements for electrical integration team
Directs the work of outsource resources assigned on projects in electrical integration areas
Verify system configuration and block diagrams
Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (NX) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical and electrical designs
Design brackets and fixations for electrical components and wiring. Verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification through static and dynamic crash testing
Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers
Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred
Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial aircraft seating products
Experience in design using Siemens NX or other 3D CAD software
Experience working with Teamcenter or other Product Data Management (PDM) tools
Experience integrating electrical components (routing, harnesses, and mechanical installations)
Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles
Familiarity with FAA requirements
