Director of Information Services

Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive Information Services strategy aligned with organizational goals and ministry objectives
Lead, mentor, and develop Information Services Support staff, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture
Serve as a technology advisor and subject matter expert to senior leadership, helping evaluate new tools and systems that improve ministry effectiveness and operational efficiency
Establish policies, procedures, and standards for technology use, data management, cybersecurity, and user support
Oversee the design, maintenance, and reliability of network infrastructure, hardware, and software systems
Manage system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle planning to ensure technology remains current and cost-effective
Oversee relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers, ensuring quality and value
Ensure business continuity through appropriate disaster recovery and backup systems
Protect organizational and personal data through strong cybersecurity protocols, access controls, and regular audits
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices for data privacy and information security
Oversee permissions, authentication, and identity management systems
Support departments in responsible data use, reporting, and analysis to inform decision-making
Oversee help desk operations, ensuring timely, courteous, and effective support for all users
Champion user education and training on technology tools, systems, and security practices
Establish service level expectations and track performance metrics for continuous improvement
Champion the strategic use of technology to drive efficiency, consistency, security, and excellent end-user experience across the organization
Architect, implement, and maintain the integrated IT/IS software stack that supports a 200-employee, Mac-dominant environment
Oversee Mac fleet management through Rippling MDM and Apple Business Manager, including zero-touch deployment, automated onboarding/offboarding, and standardized software provisioning
Maximize Rippling platform capabilities — including Identity & Access Management, evaluate use of SSO, and Rippling Software integrations (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc), role-based app assignments, and RPass password management
Deploy, manage, and monitor cybersecurity tools including Cisco Secure Endpoint, Upfort Shield Cyber, Cisco Umbrella(DNS filtering), MFA enforcement, device-compliance baselines, and risk-posture dashboards
Administer Zendesk as the enterprise service platform: SLAs, ticket routing, workflows, macros, metrics, user satisfaction measurement, and automation of self-service and knowledge-base resources
Implement and maintain remote-support tools enabling efficient laptop servicing regardless of employee location
Develop and document systems architecture standards, device-management policies, security requirements, and lifecycle procedures for hardware and software
Oversee network and infrastructure integrations (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, remote access) with internal teams and external partners
Manage vendor relationships and ensure all systems work cohesively to support staff, security, and organizational mission
Develop and manage the Information Services budget, aligning spending with strategic priorities
Evaluate technology investments for cost-effectiveness and long-term sustainability
Maintain accurate records of licenses, warranties, and service agreements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required
Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience, including effective supervision of staff and management of systems infrastructure
Strong knowledge of network administration, data security, and enterprise software systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AVL, security hardware and software, church management or donor databases, financial systems)
Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, navigate conflict, influence others, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Commitment to the mission, values, and faith-based culture of the organization
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing technology strategies in a mission-driven or nonprofit environment preferred
