Supervising Pharmacist

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervising Pharmacist to lead their pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and team performance while focusing on patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
Serve as the designated Supervising Pharmacist/Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)/ with full accountability for pharmacy operations
Ensure compliance with all New Jersey Board of Pharmacy, state, and federal regulations, including DEA, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements
Lead, mentor, and support a team of 5–10 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
Partner with the Operations Manager to streamline workflows, improve productivity, and maintain exceptional service levels
Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, service expansion, and operational improvements
Manage pharmacy inventory, including procurement, storage, and controlled substance accountability
Oversee quality assurance programs, audit readiness, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections, audits, and third-party payer reviews
Evaluate, implement, and oversee pharmacy technology systems; ensure staff training and compliance
Resolve escalated patient issues while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered care
Qualification
Required
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
Active, unrestricted New Jersey pharmacist license (required)
Minimum 5–7 years of pharmacy operations experience, including 2+ years in a PIC or leadership role
Strong knowledge of USP, DEA, FDA, and NJ State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Proven experience managing teams and workflows in a complex pharmacy environment
Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and related software
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality, and service excellence
Preferred
Experience in specialty, long-term care, or mail-order pharmacy
Familiarity with Medicare Part D and third-party payer processes
Strong analytical, reporting, and process-improvement skills
