Executive Assistant - Land Preservation

Lake County Forest Preserve District is seeking an Executive Assistant for their Land Preservation department to assist with real estate transactions and manage internal records. The role involves coordinating various tasks related to land transactions and supporting the Planning Committee meetings.

Government

Responsibilities

Assisting with the completion of real estate transactions
Updating internal District real estate records and submitting documentation to Lake County for tax exempt status
Conducting research on real estate issues that may include a variety of factors related to physical and legal status of a property
Assisting with the implementation of land transactions including working with realtors, sellers, attorneys and other District staff
Coordinating requests for appraisals, title commitments, surveys, and environmental studies, and requests real estate contracts from District counsel
Coordinating monthly Planning Committee meetings, working in conjunction with the Executive Director, Director of Land Preservation, and Manager of Board Operations, which involves assembling agendas; drafting recommendations, resolutions, ordinances and policy direction; communicating with other departments, and attending the meetings
Performing lifting tasks up to 25 pounds
Driving a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations
Performing tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting

Qualification

Required

Associate's Degree in business, finance, real estate, management, or related field
Two years' experience in administrative services or office management
Working knowledge of real estate and its terminology
Understanding of the local governmental structure in Lake County including the municipal and county levels of government and the relationship between various governmental entities
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and OnBase document management software
Working knowledge of state and local laws governing administrative processes within municipal government, including document retention policies
Must possess valid driver's license
