Regional Field Manager AR/KS/MO

BLD Connection is a regional trade association representing independent lumber and building material retailers. They are seeking a Regional Field Manager to increase membership and member engagement, manage regional events, and serve as the primary contact for legislative communication within Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Maintain continual contact (via personal visits, telephone, email, and attending industry events/trade shows) with retail lumber and building material dealers in Arkansas, Kansas & Missouri
Work to meet goals for member recruitment and retention (focused primarily on dealers but also with suppliers)
Report member needs to staff and establish a working relationship with the dealers in territory. Remain in continual contact with fellow staff members to ensure open communication about program/event needs and to assist in hitting sales quotas
Maintain contact with current and/or prospective supplier members and assist in creating programs and marketing opportunities for those members
Assist in development of renewal/retention campaigns for members and collaborate with staff to implement
Assist in development of recruitment campaigns for members and collaborate with staff to implement
Answer general questions about association membership
Assist with management of organization's membership department budget including membership dues budget, travel budget(s), events budget(s), etc
Produce monthly membership reports including dues reports, call reports, etc
Serve as primary sales person for the Association in designated territory
Responsible to meet sales goals of educational programs, membership, member programs, services and merchandise and other association events
Responsible for making sales calls (150-200 per week expected) for events, conventions and educational seminars on behalf of the Association and other staff members
Maintain knowledge of all programs to accurately sell the features and benefits to dealers; answering questions as needed
Work with current vendors to prospect for new accounts, further develop current program(s) and to secure additional marketing dollars (as directed)
Take product search calls from members seeking a vendor for a particular product and/or service
Service dealers and suppliers in assigned territory; offering member programs and services and informing current and potential members of the association’s offerings
Estimated travel: approx. 20 weeks per year
Overnight travel: One (1) - Two (2) weeks per month
Local travel (non-overnight): One (1) week per month
Responsible to attend all events, classes conferences, etc. as assigned
Work with meeting and events team to develop, plan and promote all special events including golf outings, fishing tournaments, member tours, etc. in assigned territory
Work with meeting & events team to establish preferred facilities for events, educational programs, etc. and assist as requested with event planning duties
Assist with management of all event preparations including event budgets, registration process, securing door prizes, preparing on-site handouts, packing, etc
Work with staff & volunteer Boards to plan and promote all annual special events
Responsible for meeting or exceeding event registration goals for each event
Market & sell sponsorships to Associate (Vendor) Members for All Events
Attend all events
Creation of newsletter and/or magazine articles
Creation and/or sharing of social media post(s)
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President and/or Director of Membership

Required

Candidate must be based in/or around the Kansas City metro area/Topeka, KS/Wichita, KS/Branson, MO
A valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and the physical ability to operate a non-commercial vehicle to travel to all areas covered by the Association
Computer skills with a minimum requirement of an intermediate level with the following software programs: Word, Excel (or similar spreadsheet program), and Outlook
Strong writing skills - able to write strong emails, newsletter articles, promotional pieces, etc
Understanding and prior use of CRM/Association Management/Database Software
Basic to intermediate understanding of legislative advocacy
Ability to sell products, programs and event registrations effectively
Ability to prioritize tasks according to due dates and work load
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent math skills to calculate budgets, registration fees, etc
Attention to detail, well organized, accurate, logic-based reasoning
Proven self-starter/independent
Team player able to multi-task and work with several people simultaneously
Able to be extremely flexible
Thrive on working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Present yourself in a professional manner
The ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
Ability to travel overnight for field visits, special events, meetings and conventions will be required

Preferred

Previous outside sales and marketing experience
Previous lumber & building material industry (or equivalent) experience a plus
Experience with the planning, marketing and implementation of conferences, outings, events, etc
Previous association experience a plus
Certified in OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 a plus
