Produce Evening Supervisor

Responsibilities
Assist the Produce Department Manager by closely working with all Produce associates to ensure a consistently enjoyable shopping experience, adherence to company policies and procedures, and fulfillment of department goals and objectives
Promote Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Produce associates
Assist in training new Produce associates and provide re-training as necessary
Answer questions and offer guidance to all Produce department associates
Ensure all department standards are being met within the Produce department by observing sales floor and back stock conditions and taking action to correct any areas of opportunity
Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure accurate pricing on products sold
Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Store Director, Produce Manager/Assistant Manager, other Department Managers, and Produce associates to uphold standards and exceed guest expectations
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting guests in finding items, taking orders, and handling special requests. Answer the telephone and assist callers using proper phone etiquette, addressing guest concerns and resolving issues when guests are not satisfied with the service or product received
Assist all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing and cleaning work areas, shelving, and the sales floor as needed
Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
Complete other duties as assigned and maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
Qualification
Required
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, with the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
Proper training and knowledge of equipment/procedures such as slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers are essential
Knowledge of the retail food business, with a thorough understanding of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions
Standing for extended periods of time
Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures

Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly, providing more frequent access to their funds. Part-time store associates are paid a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Hourly full-time store associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
