The Attorney - Civil Litigation (Defense) will manage an active caseload from intake through resolution, while collaborating with partners, nurses, paralegals, and staff to drive matters forward autonomously.

Responsibilities
Ethically, responsibly, and autonomously manage day-to-day case operations with minimal supervision; escalate material issues to partners as appropriate
Track and manage case deadlines (including answers, discovery, motions, and court-ordered schedules)
Draft and finalize pleadings and discovery (answers, discovery requests and responses, disclosures, productions, deposition summaries, and motion practice)
Oversee and coordinate nurse, paralegal, and secretary staff to ensure clear task delegation and timely execution
Attend and cover depositions; prepare detailed deposition reports and case assessments
Coordinate and conduct calls with expert witnesses; assist with expert strategy and preparation
Review and analyze medical records; collaborate with nurses and paralegals to organize expert packets and case materials
Prepare for trial, including pretrial filings, exhibit and witness preparation, and trial notebooks; attend and participate in trial
Meet billable expectations: 1,950 hours per year (162.5 hours per month)
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience on the defense side
Active and in-good-standing Georgia Bar License
Proven experience drafting pleadings, managing discovery, taking/defending depositions, and handling court appearances
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume docket with strong attention to detail and deadlines
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Preferred
2–4+ years of medical malpractice and/or civil litigation defense experience
Prior trial preparation and courtroom experience (state and/or federal)
Experience working with expert witnesses and medical record analysis (assisted by our nurses)
