Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all phases of land surveying projects, from planning through completion
Perform and supervise boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys
Utilize Trimble or Leica robotic total stations, RTK GPS, LiDAR, and UAV (drone) photogrammetry for data collection
Process field data and prepare deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Review legal descriptions, plats, deeds, and survey records to determine property boundaries
Ensure compliance with Maryland state surveying standards and regulatory requirements
Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and developers to meet project objectives and deadlines
Mentor junior surveyors and field crews, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Maintain quality control and implement best practices in data accuracy and safety
Qualification
Required
Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of Pennsylvania is required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity)
Minimum of 5 years experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Proficiency with GPS, total stations, and CAD-based drafting software (Civil 3D preferred)
Proficiency with standard Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Strong understanding of boundary law, plats, and property descriptions
Proven project management skills
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent organizational and communication, and presentation skills
Valid driver's license and ability to perform fieldwork
