Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of strategies to maximize store profitability. Monitor financial performance, including sales, inventory levels, and operating expenses, and take corrective actions as necessary. Develop and manage store budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets
Oversee all aspects of inventory control, ensuring accurate tracking of stock levels and timely replenishment. Proactively manage purchasing decisions, monitor product turnover, and optimize the product mix to meet customer demand and maximize margins. Manage retail and wholesale inventory, coordinating transfers and pricing with precision
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with artisans, craftspeople, and vendors. Oversee the procurement of merchandise, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure timely delivery. May authorize and execute wholesale purchases, which may include the writing and distribution of checks to vendors in alignment with policy and approval of senior management, exercising a high level of financial acumen and accountability
Direct the management and optimization of the company’s retail website, ensuring that online sales align with overall business objectives. Oversee online inventory accuracy, product listings, and pricing strategies to enhance customer experience and drive digital revenue
Lead the development of new product offerings, including customized gifts and apparel. Manage large and complex orders, particularly for leadership or shareholder gifts, coordinating with artists and vendors to deliver high-quality products
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of employees, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment. Support training programs to enhance team capabilities and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service. Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and promote professional growth within the team
Fosters a collaborative and engaged environment, addressing, and managing employee concerns
Drives employee engagement through effective communication, feedback and recognition
Ensure that all employees meet or exceed the company’s customer service standards. Continuously monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall retail experience. Lead initiatives to drive customer loyalty and satisfaction
Champion a culture of collaboration, engagement, and excellence. Address employee concerns in a timely manner, provide recognition for achievements, and encourage open communication. Drive team morale and ensure that staff is aligned with organizational values and goals
Maintain strict compliance with all applicable local, tribal, state, and federal laws and regulations
Ensure the store adheres to health, safety, and security standards, proactively addressing any issues related to theft, loss prevention, or other operational risks
Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies for store growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive continuous improvements in operations and sales performance. Lead the development and execution of initiatives aimed at expanding market share and improving competitive positioning
Supervise/manage a department and have authority over hiring/firing/performance decisions
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled setting with occasional exposure to smoke, loud noises, and bright lights
Requires continuous walking and standing
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
Requires travel to multiple retail store locations
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, or other related field, or five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in retail management or related filed
Effective written, communication, presentation, and computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of principles and processes involved in providing customer services, including customer needs assessments, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products
Working knowledge of website retail, e-commerce, and accounting processes
