Procurement Summer Intern
GM Performance Power Units LLC is seeking a motivated Procurement Intern to support purchasing and supply chain activities for a Formula 1 Performance Power Unit team. This role provides hands-on experience in procurement operations within the automotive and motorsports industry, working closely with experienced buyers and engineers.

Responsibilities
Assist buyers with purchasing components, materials, and equipment
Help create and track purchase orders for accuracy and timely delivery
Communicate with suppliers to follow up on orders and resolve basic issues
Support supplier onboarding and documentation collection
Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records
Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand part requirements
Assist with cost tracking and basic reporting
Support urgent and just-in-time (JIT) delivery needs as required
Learn IFS ERP system for purchase requisition and purchase order creation
Generate IFS reports as needed to assist team in forecasting
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current college/university students seeking Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
Automotive and/or Energy industry experience
Basic understanding of procurement software and materials management
Knowledge of IFS for procurement and financial management
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Collaboration: Works effectively with internal teams and external partners
Adaptability: Responds effectively to evolving business needs and opportunities
Growth mindset
Ability to handle multiple projects independently
Clear communicator, both written and verbal along with keen attention to detail
Aptitude for learning as you go
Ability to stand, walk, and move in diverse operational environments
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
