Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the sterile processing department, including inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate team leads and departmental staff
Ensure staff qualifications, competencies, and continuing education requirements are met
Implement and maintain quality control and process improvement programs
Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate sterile instrument preparation and workflow
Monitor compliance with infection control, aseptic techniques, and safety protocols
Participate in resource planning, budget recommendations, and departmental process improvements
Support departmental integration with other services to ensure operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
Two-Year Surgical Technology Course or CRCST/CSPDT Certification
CSPDT/IAHCSMM Certification
Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience
Minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Strong supervisory and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and surgical equipment
Proficient in computer applications related to department workflow
Familiarity with aseptic techniques, infection control, and hospital standards
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
Experience in surgery center settings is a plus
