Accountant IV
Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is a public benefit corporation of the State of Hawai’i, operating critical access hospitals and clinics. The primary responsibility of the Accountant IV is to ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting functions for all Kaua’i Region facilities, which includes managing general accounting procedures, financial reporting, and payroll processing.

Responsibilities
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting functions for all Kaua’i Region facilities
Manage all aspects of regional general accounting procedures, month-end and year-end closing, analytical and reporting reviews, cost accounting, cost reporting, financial statement preparation, reconciliation and balancing of accounts receivable, collections and payments, inventory management, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll processing
Process a large volume of transactions within a limited timeframe
Travel to and from Kaua’i Region facilities as determined by the Regional Accounting Manager to perform all aspects of the accounting functions
Provide leave coverage for other lower-level Accountant positions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects
Two and one-half (2 ½) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience, which may have included teaching accounting at the university level
Current Certification in Public Accounting (CPA) preferred
Possession of a current, valid driver's license type# 3 preferred
Overall paid or unpaid experience must have been of such scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that you have the ability to perform the duties of this position
Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under the federal law for unrestricted employment and at the time of appointment intend to reside in the State of Hawaii during the course of employment with the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation
Applicants must meet the health and physical requirements deemed necessary to effectively and safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment physical examination, which includes drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, two-step tuberculosis (TB) screen
