FULLY ONSITE PATIENT ACCESS REP
TEKsystems is looking to hire several fully onsite Patient Access Representatives for a large hospital in Detroit, MI. The role involves registering patients, updating their information, and performing scheduling and admission functions while ensuring compliance with financial and cash control policies.

Responsibilities
Employees will work at the main central registration desk and check patients in for the 20 clinics that this department supports. You will register the patient, update their information and add them to the system, actively collecting patient demographic, insurance cards, and copays
Perform scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission, admission, and discharge functions, and must be able to obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information as well as must be able to employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during and after date of service
Complete full patient registration at date of service, adhering to financial and cash control policies and procedures, thoroughly explaining and securing hospital and patient legal forms, scanning Protected Health Information, creating and filing patient information packets and folders for upcoming hospital services
Assisting with scheduling diagnostic procedures like entering data in scheduling system, providing customer with appointment instructions, and other tasks as needed, educating patients about patient financial liabilities, and performing hospital cash reconciliation and securing payment entry in adherence to financial and cash control policies + procedures
Securing medical necessity checks and verification in accordance to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services, verifying insurance, benefits, coverage & eligibility, completing assigned registration financial clearance worklists, obtaining insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled hospital services and securing inpatient visit notification to payors
Qualification
Required
Prior experience working with health insurance, 3 years minimum administrative experience in a medical facility, as well as 3 years experience in a customer service environment
Must have the ability to be trained on internal systems as well as must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have great personality, patient, and must be customer service oriented
