Responsibilities
Prospect, open, and grow hundreds of independent baby stores and small-to-mid-size regional chains (e.g., buybuy BABY independents, local boutiques, hospital gift shops, juvenile specialty, etc.)
Identify, sign, and manage relationships with regional and national specialty distributors that service the independent channel
Secure initial distribution, expand SKUs, drive re-orders, and achieve territory revenue targets
Execute in-store events, demos, staff training sessions, and co-op marketing programs
Build and maintain deep, long-term relationships with store owners, buyers, and distributor reps
Provide accurate forecasting, track sell-through, and manage co-op advertising and promotional funds
Attend key regional and national trade shows (ABC Kids Expo, JPMA, regional gift & juvenile shows, etc.)
Qualification
Required
3+ years of outside sales experience selling into independent baby stores, juvenile specialty retailers, gift shops, or closely related categories (toys, feeding, gear, apparel, nursery, etc.)
Existing relationships with owners/buyers of independent baby stores and regional distributors across multiple U.S. regions is a major advantage
Proven track record of opening 100+ new accounts per year and consistently hitting or exceeding quota
Comfortable with true outside sales: cold calling, drop-ins, driving/flying territory, building your own pipeline
Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and thrives with a high degree of autonomy
Excellent presentation and closing skills; able to train retail staff and run in-store events
Must live in the U.S. and be able to travel 40-60% (trade shows, regional swings, key account visits)
