Responsibilities

Providing analysis and advice on complex program issues on audit processes from knowledge and experience in conducting, monitoring, or overseeing audits, according to generally accepted government auditing standards
Providing input for analysis on the audit related information in the audit tracking system for senior management requests concerning the status of completed, ongoing, or planned Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Office of Inspector General(OIG) audits
Preparing reports for senior level executives/officials related to the status of audits, including recommendations through the process of resolution and corrective action, presenting analysis on the extent to which CBP audit follow-up activity results in efficient, prompt, and proper resolution and corrective action of audit recommendations
Following the Department Audit Liaison (DAL) policies/directives for overseeing audits, the incumbent assists in writing, updating and adhering to the CBP directive on Government Accountability Office (GAO)/Office of the Inspector General (OIG) coordination
Working with DHS audit liaisons, as well as GAO and OIG to ensure that audit work is within scope, non-duplicative and clear

Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 01/16/2026
GS-13: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting, planning, and/or evaluating audits and audit findings while adhering to statutory and other requirements; Planning and developing briefings for senior-level leaders and staff regarding the status of completed, ongoing, or planned GAO and OIG audits and recommendations; Maintaining office audit data tracking systems
GS-14: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Ability to analyze contact and compliance with office, agency, and government-wide policies, regulations and procedures; Preparing reports for senior level executives/officials related to the status of audits, including recommendations through the entire process of resolution and corrective action; Facilitating and coordinating major projects, policies and procedural changes
