Responsibilities
Customer interaction: receive requests, communicate and confirm requirements, communicate ongoing progress, resolve open issues
Quoting: estimate material and labor costs, generate and send quotes to customers
Production interaction: coordinate material sourcing with vendors and machining operations with shop foreman and resolve production issues
Technical drawing: generate production drawings suitable for machining
Job routing: Utilize expertise to clearly define and communicate material requirements and manufacturing processes for individual jobs to ensure cost-effective and timely production with reliable quality
Job scheduling: prioritize and schedule work in process to balance machine loads and delivery requirements
Job costing: review time and materials used and input into computer database to determine the costs of completed jobs
Purchasing: procure required materials and tooling for jobs as well as miscellaneous production supplies and tools for shop
Order entry: Enter orders with appropriate due dates, shipping information, and relevant customer instructions
Continuing Improvement: collaborate with shop foreman to improve machining processes, tooling
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of operating in a job shop environment
Reading and generating technical drawings
Use of Computer-Aided Drawing (including solid modeling)
